The view from my hammock

Yup.  This is absobloomin' wonderful!

I spent the day raking and cleaning up and then planting 2 rows of hollyhocks (against the fence to the right), in front of them 2 rows of cut and come again zinnias, and around the main half circle of garden, 12' mammoth sunflowers.

I also put in red begonias to the right of the chairs, and helped my daughter plant snapdragons ("dragonsnaps!") and some other cool similar flower in her fairy garden.

We had an exciting incident of June Bugs - suddenly as I dug a hole I had one attached to each garden glove.  I had those gloves off pretty quickly!  They were totally stuck.  I was unhappy, the bugs were unhappy, daughter was a bit freaked out too.  I finally got them aboard my garden shovel and relocated to the snow- on-the-mountain.  Hope they like skiing.

As I helped my son restart the mower for the gazillionth time, an 8' branch crashed down from 20' up.  Luckily it missed us!  We'd been standing right where it fell not 10 minutes before.
Thanks God!

We finally found a church today, I think.  The pastor asked kids who they wanted to pray for at the children's moments.  And then put their requests in the prayers of the church.  I was proud of my son for asking for prayers for Haiti.  And that wonderful lady pastor totally had me when she prayed for the baby squirrels.  I will write yesterday's story of Triss the squirrel next.

May your days be sunny and bright!  And may all your maple seeds take flight!  (Helicopters aplenty here!)
